Terms & Conditions

By making a booking at Gifford House Edinburgh, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Bookings & Payments

1. Bookings may be made directly through our website or via third-party platforms (e.g. Booking.com).
2. Full payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation.
3. We accept major credit/debit cards through secure payment providers.
4. Your booking is not confirmed until payment has been successfully processed and a confirmation email issued.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

1. You may cancel free of charge up to 28 days before the scheduled check-in date.
2. Cancellations made within 28 days of arrival will incur a 100% charge of the booking value.
3. No-shows will be charged in full.

Check-In & Check-Out

1. Check-in: From 3:00 PM onwards. Self check-in instructions will be sent prior to arrival.
2. Check-out: By 10:00 AM on the day of departure.
3. Early check-in and late check-out may be possible on request, subject to availability and must be agreed in advance.
4. We offer free luggage storage on site for early arrivals or late departures.

Identification & Guest Information

1. All guests must provide valid photo ID prior to check-in.
2. If booking on behalf of another guest, the guest’s full name and contact details must be provided.

Property Rules

To ensure the comfort and safety of all guests:

1. No pets allowed.
2. No smoking anywhere on the premises.
3. No parties, gatherings, or events are permitted.
4. Guests must behave respectfully at all times and avoid disturbing other guests or neighbours.
5. A minimum age of 8 years applies for all guests.

Failure to comply may result in early termination of stay without refund.

Parking & Liability

1. Free on-street parking is available behind the property, subject to availability.
2. Parking is entirely at guests’ own risk.
3. Gifford House is not responsible for any loss, theft, damage, or injury incurred during your stay, unless caused by our negligence.

Guests are responsible for securing their belongings and locking doors/windows when leaving the property.

Damages & Missing Items

1. Guests are responsible for any significant damage caused to rooms, furnishings, or the building during their stay.
2. We reserve the right to charge the card on file for any substantial repairs, replacements, or extra cleaning required as a result of damage, misuse, or theft.
3. Towels, linens, remote controls, and other items must not be removed from the property.

If damage or theft is discovered after departure, we will contact you with evidence and details before charging.

Accessibility

1. Please note: Gifford House is not wheelchair accessible and may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.
2. If you have specific access needs, please contact us prior to booking.

Changes & Cancellations by Us

In the unlikely event that we must cancel or amend your booking due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered a full refund or the opportunity to rebook for alternative dates.

Force Majeure

We shall not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance, due to events outside our reasonable control, including (but not limited to) natural disasters, pandemics, travel disruptions, or government restrictions.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
